Once food has been prepared it moves into the Cooking Zone to be cooked. This zone will include the primary cook top or range. An extractor hood and often a microwave are placed in this zone.
Primary storage in this area needs to include pots & pans, casserole dishes, utensils such as wooden spoons & ladles and condiments in the form of oils and spices. In some kitchens where the baking center is part of the Cooking Zone you would also store baking pans & trays here.
